My Story
from performing on stage to helping others find their voice
I believe that every person has a message worth sharing, a purpose worth pursuing, and a unique Charismatic Presence® waiting to be fully expressed.
That belief didn't come from a textbook. It was forged over decades as a professional actress, nationally touring singer/songwriter, keynote speaker, executive coach, and communication expert.
Before I began coaching leaders and speakers, I spent years learning the power of presence from the stage. I started my business in 2004 after coming off the road as a nationally touring singer/songwriter, having written and recorded several well-received CDs of original music. Prior to that (after earning dual majors in Semiotics and Theater Arts from Brown University), I worked as a professional actress in New York and Los Angeles.
My years on stages large and small taught me how to show up, step up, and speak up with authenticity, intention, and impact—whether in an audition, a performance, or under the bright lights of a live audience. Along the way, I blossomed into a professional keynote speaker and trainer, proudly earning my Certified Speaking Professional (CSP®) designation, a distinction currently held by fewer than 17% of members of the National Speakers Association.
Today, I've coached hundreds of leaders—from CEOs of global organizations to entrepreneurs, physicians, engineers, academics, and thought leaders—spoken to countless audiences, authored multiple award-winning books, and established myself as both a Charismatic Presence expert and a passionate advocate for the development of human potential.
The work I do reflects my core belief that—metaphorically speaking—you have a song worth singing: a purpose uniquely your own, with talents and abilities to match. I also believe you're meant to develop and share that song—your big idea, your talents, your unique message—to the best of your abilities, despite the limiting beliefs and behaviors that can tempt you to play small when people are watching.
Because keeping your song to yourself doesn't serve you, your team, your customers, or your world.
As my work has evolved, so has my focus. Today, I help leaders not only discover and express their own authentic voice, but also use their Charismatic Presence® to inspire confidence, communicate with clarity, and help others find—and share—their own voice. When leaders learn to honor their own song, they create the conditions for others to discover and share theirs as well.
Sharing practical tools that help people overcome limiting beliefs, develop their Charismatic Presence®, communicate with clarity, and step into moments that matter with confidence is my way of supporting the song in you.
Whether I'm helping someone prepare for a high-stakes presentation, a career-defining interview, a keynote address, or a leadership challenge, my goal is always the same:
To help people communicate who they truly are—so they can unlock their own potential and inspire the potential of others.
Why this work matters to me
Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with leaders, entrepreneurs, executives, speakers, and professionals across virtually every industry—from information technology, engineering, medicine, higher education, and financial services to venture capital, healthcare, manufacturing, nonprofits, and beyond.
Whether someone is preparing for a high-stakes presentation, a career-defining interview, an important keynote, a difficult conversation, or a leadership role, I've found that the underlying challenge is almost always the same.
They know what they want to say.
They simply aren't yet communicating it in a way that fully reflects who they are.
Sometimes fear gets in the way. Sometimes it's self-doubt. Sometimes it's perfectionism, imposter syndrome, or years of limiting beliefs. And sometimes they simply haven't yet discovered how to translate their ideas into a message that genuinely connects with the people they most want to influence.
What I've learned through years of performing, coaching, speaking, and working alongside leaders is that communication is never just about the words. It's about presence, energy, and connection. And about helping people experience not only what you know, but who you are.
When someone learns how to show up fully as themselves—clear, grounded, authentic, and with their innate Charismatic Presence® fully expressed—everything changes. Their presentations become more compelling. Their interviews become more authentic. Their communication becomes more influential. Their leadership becomes more inspiring. And the people around them respond in an entirely different way.
That's why I love this work. Because I believe every person has a unique contribution to make—a song worth singing, a pilot light worth protecting, and a message the world needs to hear.
Helping people discover the confidence to communicate that message with clarity, authenticity, and Charismatic Presence® isn't simply my profession.
It's my purpose.
